Of a very striking design, this impressive mirror was expertly crafted around 1930, during the peak years of the renowned Art Deco period. Â
The large mirror glass is elegantly framed by a vivid blue glass and giltwood frame. All are mounted on a wooden backing, the wood grain peeking from the sides all around the piece, an unusual feature on pieces of this type. Eight rectangular giltwood panels adorn the frame of the mirror, the shining gold beautifully matching the eye-catching blue. The giltwood panels superbly create a divide between the large, refined glass panels framing the mirror. A delicate giltwood border also surrounds the mirror pane adding a further sophisticated design feature.
The Art Deco style is known for its geometric and symmetrical motifs, lack of excess decoration, and rich colours, all features magnificently displayed in this impressive mirror. Â
The vibrant yet tastefully designed mirror would look great in both contemporary and traditional interiors, adding a touch of refined elegance to the space.Â
