Description

This shining gold pair of candelabra was crafted in the early 20th century from silver gilt, also known as vermeil.

Both candelabra feature three lights, each mounted atop scrolling acanthus arms. The central candle holder is flanked by two others, creating a symmetrical look.  The main stem is adorned with flowing acanthus leaves as well as a selection of C and S scrolls, all typical of the French 18th century Rococo style. The bulbous forms greatly complement the more restrained arms.

The top of each candelabra is removable to create a candlestick, adding an unexpected feature to this pair. A ‘925’ mark features on the pieces and together they weigh approximately 2,398 grammes.

The playful and multifunctional design of this pair makes it a very desirable addition to both modern and traditional interior spaces.
