Ormolu mounted marquetry wardrobe retailed by Au Gros Chêne

The wardrobe, retailed by Au Gros Chêne, is set with ormolu mounts, and profusely adorned with superb Neoclassical style marquetry designs. The wardrobe is of three bays: the central, widest bay features a mirror-fronted door, while the two narrower bays feature doors adorning with Neoclassical style marquetry of abstracted vases. The central mirrored bay opens to reveal a wardrobe with three lower shelves above two drawers, while each of the side bays open to reveal a series of shelves, with each door featuring a mirrored backing. The wood throughout is wonderfully veneered in a geometrically manner, while the ormolu mounts are deftly cast and finished. The wardrobe is raised on wooden cabriole legs mounted with ormolu foliate sabots.

The cabinet is affixed with a brass plate indicating it was retailed by Au Gros Chêne.
