Description

This wonderful collectable depicts a cherry blossom, a very important tree within both Chinese and Japanese cultures. In Japan, these pink-hued flowers symbolise hope, renewal, and the coming of spring. Due to their short life span, they also remind one of the importance of appreciating what we have while we have it. On the other hand, in China, the cherry blossom is symbolic of feminine power, independence, and beauty.

From the textured metal tree trunk extend a plethora of wire-wrapped metal branches. Delicate rose quartz petals are assembled and joined with pink thread to depict a cherry blossom flower. The stigmas are crafted from bright yellow beads, adding to the life-like appearance of this objet d’art.  Rose quartz is believed to be the stone of unconditional love, adding yet another important meaning to the piece.

The tree model stands in an ornate cloisonné enamel pot. It is decorated with intricate cloud-like shapes crafted from thin metal wires and filled with bold blue enamel. The pot is divided into three sections with gilt banding. The central panel is filled with yellow and pink chrysanthemum flowers among greenery.

Of a very refined yet rich design, this collectable would be a super addition to one’s interior space as, for example, a table centrepiece.
