Jamison, George (English, d. 1810)

George Jamison (d. 1810) was an 18th Century British craftsman, who was famous for producing Mudge timekeepers.

In 1796, Jamison formed a partnership in London with William Howells and Paul Philippe Barraud until 1799, whereupon each partner went his own way. Jamison was an established expert on Mudge chronometers, being 'Chronometer maker to the High Commissioners of the Navy'. In 1805 Jamison moved to Portsmouth – presumably chasing marine business – where he stayed until his death in 1810.
