Our American fine art portrays iconic American scenes by American painters, responding to political changes throughout the nineteenth century. A selection of antiques made by Bradley & Hubbard foregrounds American craft from the 1800s onwards.

Bradley & Hubbard, founded in Connecticut in 1852, specialised in Art Brass works including luxury tables, lamps, and clocks. This prestigious company designed hundreds of items and mechanical devices, many of which can now be found within the Baltimore Museum of Art, the Metropolitan Museum in New York, and the Yale University Art Gallery.

Moving towards the iconic 1950s, the Gallery holds a selection of more contemporary American pieces, playful in aesthetic and design. Items crafted by Seeburg reflect the American influence upon music throughout this decade. Seeburg, founded in Chicago in 1902, continued to reign supreme in the creation of musical equipment, including exceptional jukeboxes which function to this day.
